“Halloween (1978)” Movie Review

Halloween is a 1978 American slasher film directed by John Carpenter. It was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960) and started the slasher genre in horror film’s.

Michael Myers, a 6-year-old disturbed boy, brutally murders his 16-year-old sister, Judith, on Halloween night in 1963. After a 15 year hospitalization, Myers escapes, and returns to his hometown, where he begins stalking ng a girl named Laurie Strode (played by Jamie Lee Curtis).

Halloween actually impressed me, when I first watched it on cable. It did a lot of things a horror film actually needed. Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasence (Dr. Loomis), and Nick Castle (The Shape/Michael Myers) were my favorite performances of the film. This, until the 2018 canon sequel comes out, is the best one in the franchise. John Carpenter’s music was so iconic and so original, I wanted to hear it over and over and over. This, by far, was one of the best slasher films of all time.

Michael Myers, by far, is my all-time favorite serial killer in horror movies.

I’m going to rate Halloween (1978),

4.5/5 Stars (A).
